Tubu, Farm Fresh start to find groove

Despite a challenging start to the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, the Farm Fresh Foxies, led by the indomitable Trisha Tubu, have demonstrated remarkable resilience and focus, securing back-to-back victories that have revitalized their season.

Farm Fresh's journey began with a tough opening, marked by consecutive losses to formidable opponents Chery Tiggo and Creamline.

However, the Foxies showcased their determination by breaking their losing streak with a thrilling five-set victory over Galeries Tower last Tuesday.

Building on this momentum, the Foxies delivered a commanding performance against Nxled, clinching a 3-0 win with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-17. This impressive victory has propelled them to the fourth spot in Pool B with a balanced 2-2 win-loss record.

After the triumph over the Chameleons on Saturday at the Philsports Arena, Trisha Tubu reflected on the significance of their recent win.

“Yun po sigurong last game na win po namin, sobrang laking tulong po nun para maiangat ‘yung morale namin. And ‘yun nga po, yung focus namin is talagang never nawala,” Tubu shared. Her performance was instrumental, delivering 16 points—all from attacks—to secure the win for the Foxies.

Japanese head coach Shota Sato has been a guiding force for the team, consistently emphasizing the importance of focus.

“Yun yung laging sinasabi ni coach na focus – concentrate every point, every single second of the game,” Tubu added. This focus on precision and teamwork has been pivotal in the Foxies' recent successes.

Tubu also highlighted the growing importance of teamwork within the squad.

“Tulad nga po ng sabi ko kanina, sobrang laking important po ng teamwork namin ngayon, hindi lang ‘yung import yung pumupuntos, ‘yung team work po namin talaga nabubuo,” she said. “So kahit ‘yung locals nagco-contribute. ‘Di lang ‘yung first six, pati ‘yung nasa bench namin kaya sobrang sarap sa feeling na unti-unti ‘yung teamwork namin nagiging solid.”

Colombian reinforcement Yeny Murillo has continued to be a standout performer, leading the charge with 22 points in their recent match.

Additionally, the Foxies received valuable contributions from Caitlyn Viray and Chinni Arroyo, who added seven and six points, respectively, in their swift one-hour, 19-minute victory over Nxled.
